Find Meaning in Your Life and Achieve Your Career Goals

Do you feel stuck in a job you don't love? Or maybe want to build the career of your dreams? If the answer is yes to any of these then it may be time to consider our life's purpose.

Now, what does the meaning of life have to do with achieving your career goals? Well, everything! If you're unsure about what gives your life purpose and where you want to go or accomplish, it may be a struggle to get there.

The meaning of life is one of the most common and important philosophical questions of all time. But this article is about finding the importance of life, which is one of the most critical challenges we face as human beings. We all approach this differently, but if you're feeling a bit lost, try the following tips to get started.

1. Forget about the rules

For some people, the meaning of their lives is to build a career, get married, and having children. But that's not true for everyone. This is why forgetting about the rules is so important. You can't live your life according to someone else's expectations, whether that's society, parents, church, etc. The meaning of our lives lies within our decision of what it means for us. So, think long and hard about what you want your life to be. We all have unique desires, so figure out what that means for you. You can do this by creating a vision board on Pinterest or journaling out your thoughts.

2. Leave the comfort zone

Having a comfort zone can be useful, but we shouldn't spend a lot of time reminiscing on the past and not work towards anything we haven't done because it is new. Finding our life's purpose requires us to step outside of being uncomfortable and exploring new opportunities. Fear is not something you should avoid all the time; it can be a great motivator and lead to incredible things. No matter how small or big, take a step outside your comfort zone. Remember, the fears we don't face becomes our limits.

3. Find what makes you happy

Consider these questions and perhaps do complete them as journal prompts if they would help. What is it that you enjoy most today? Is it traveling (before COVID, of course)? Spending time with family? Helping people? Finding what makes you happy is one of the most important things you can do towards finding your passion. Exploring these questions will give you a more transparent starting point for creating meaningful and achievable goals.

4. Make a map for your goals

Setting goals is essential, but it's not enough. We also need to make a roadmap for those goals. This will allow us to have the right mindset to achieve them. When setting career goals, make sure they're measurable, which means you need to have a time frame for short-term and long-term goals. They also need to be realistic and organized so that achieving one goal will lead to the other. Think of this process as setting up a fantastic domino pattern (as linked below). When you take that first action, everything else will naturally fall into place exactly as you've designed it.
